Originally from southwestern Virginia, Sylvan traded the Blue Ridge Mountains for the Green Mountains when she moved to Vermont in 2015. After designing a custom engagement ring with her husband, she realized a passion for conceiving of and creating jewelry that reflects the beauty and complexity of the natural environment. Sylvan has been apprenticing under two accomplished goldsmiths Connie Coleman and Marie-Josée Lamarche at the acclaimed local gallery, Alchemy Jewelry Arts.

When not working with designing new jewelry and working with metal in the basement studio, Sylvan is spending time with her husband and goldendoodle in their tiny home surrounded by mountains.
